Description:
This jack has a bluish-green to greenish-gold colored back and silvery or yellowish belly. It has soft dorsal and anal fins almost identical in size; prominent black spot on the gill cover; black spot at the base of each pectoral fin and no scales on the throat.

Feeding Habits:
They feed mainly on smaller fish.
Range:
This jack is only found in the western Atlantic from Nova Scotia, Canada , to Uruguay, including the Gulf of Mexico.
Habitat:
The Crevalle are found in both inshore waters and the open sea around off shore reefs, harbors, and protected bays.
Typical Size:
The Crevalle average 3-5 pounds and a foot in length but can be found over 20 pounds in size.
